The most comprehensive detection toolkit in British Columbia.
Most leak detection firms have one or two tools. We deploy eight — and combine them based on the problem, not the tool we happen to own. Explore each technology below.

Why Leak.ca
Technology leak detection done right
Eight technologies, one team
Most firms have one or two tools. We deploy thermal imaging, acoustic correlation, GPR, tracer gas, drone thermal, ultrasonic, CCTV, and permanent monitoring — and combine them for each job.
Non-invasive by design
Every technology we use is non-contact or minimally invasive. No drilling, no demolition, no damage to your property.
Real technical specifications
We publish actual specs: thermal sensitivity <0.03°C, acoustic accuracy within 30cm, GPR depth up to 6m. No marketing fluff.
Equipment from global leaders
FLIR, Gutermann, GSSI, Sebakmt, RIDGID, HIKMICRO — the same equipment trusted by major insurers, municipalities, and engineering firms worldwide.
Services
Specialist technology services
Thermal Imaging
FLIR-grade infrared cameras detect temperature differentials from moisture in walls, ceilings, slabs, and façades.
Learn moreAcoustic Correlation
Dual-sensor correlators triangulate pressurized pipe leaks with 30cm accuracy over 1km+ pipe runs.
Learn moreGround Penetrating Radar
Multi-frequency GPR (200MHz-1.6GHz) for subsurface imaging, concrete scanning, and utility locating.

Signs you need a professional
Don't wait until minor issues become major losses.
Not sure which technology you need?
Thermal for moisture mapping. Acoustic for pressurized pipe leaks. GPR for underground and slab targets. Tracer gas for complex piping. We help you choose.
Worried about property damage?
All our technologies are non-invasive. We find leaks without cutting walls, breaking concrete, or demolition.
Need evidence your insurer accepts?
Our reports include thermal imagery, acoustic data, and moisture maps — accepted by every major BC insurer.
Want to understand the technology?
We publish detailed technical specs, applications, limitations, and comparison data for every method we use.
Not sure if a leak exists?
Flow analysis, permanent monitoring, and acoustic surveys can confirm or rule out leaks without any invasive work.
Need a combination approach?
Complex leaks often need multiple technologies. We layer thermal + acoustic + GPR + tracer gas for maximum accuracy.
How it works
What happens when you call
Simple, transparent, focused on getting you the answers you need.
- 01
Diagnose the problem
Tell us what you're seeing. We recommend the best technology or combination for your situation.
- 02
Deploy the right tools
We arrive with the appropriate equipment from our 15-method toolkit — matched to your specific leak type.
- 03
Pinpoint the source
Non-invasive detection locates the leak within inches, typically in under 2 hours.
- 04
Document + report
You receive a detailed written report with findings, imagery, equipment used, and recommended next steps.
Real outcomes
Recent technology wins
Thermal + GPR combined to find slab leak in retail plaza
Retail plaza had persistent wet carpet. Thermal identified a hot spot, GPR mapped the in-slab plumbing, and acoustic confirmed the source — all in one visit.
Acoustic correlation finds 1.2M L/month water main leak
Municipality suspected losses on aging cast-iron main. Acoustic correlator pinpointed two breaks at 1.8km and 2.2km — recovery of 1.2M litres per month.
Ultrasonic + tracer gas for compressed air and CIP loop
Food plant needed two leak types found. Ultrasonic located compressed air leaks; tracer gas found a CIP loop pinhole — both in one maintenance window.

- What is the most accurate leak detection technology?
- There's no single 'most accurate' technology — accuracy depends on the type of leak, pipe material, depth, and environment. We typically combine 2-3 methods and cross-reference results for maximum accuracy.
- Is leak detection technology safe?
- Yes. All our technologies are non-invasive and emit no harmful radiation. Thermal cameras are passive (they read heat, they don't emit). GPR uses low-power radio waves comparable to a Wi-Fi router. Tracer gas uses a safe 5% hydrogen / 95% nitrogen mix.
- Can you detect leaks through concrete?
- Yes. GPR penetrates concrete up to 45cm with high resolution. Thermal imaging detects temperature differences through slab surfaces. Acoustic correlation hears pressurized leaks through concrete.
- How deep can GPR see?
- Depth depends on frequency and soil: 1.6GHz (concrete, ~45cm), 400MHz (underground, 2-4m), 200MHz (deep subsurface, 5+m). Wet clay reduces depth; dry sand and rock are excellent.
- What's the difference between thermal imaging and moisture mapping?
- Thermal imaging detects surface temperature differences caused by moisture. Moisture mapping uses multiple sensor types (capacitance, conductivity, IR) to create 3D moisture distribution maps in building assemblies.
