The Problem
A Burnaby retail plaza had persistent wet carpet near the food court. Two restoration companies had dried the area twice. The leak kept returning. Property manager needed the source found without closing stores.
Detection Method
Combined GPR and thermal imaging. GPR mapped the in-slab plumbing layout. Thermal identified a 4C anomaly where hot water was escaping from a corroded copper line. Acoustic correlation confirmed the pressurized leak signature.
Results
300mm x 300mm patch. Corroded fitting replaced. Corridor dry for 18+ months. This is a textbook example of why combining technologies outperforms any single method.
